Style is the answer to everything. A fresh way to approach a dull or dangerous thing.
To do a dull thing with style is preferable to doing a dangerous thing without it.
To do a dangerous thing with style is what I call art.

I have been B-Boying / Breaking for 15 years, representing Bad Taste Cru and the Newcastle Hip-Hop scene. Bad Taste have a philosophy towards Breaking, which was passed to them by the Belfast City Breakers:
"What the Belfast City Breakers called Breaking, is Floor Fighting. Every day you dance you fight the floor, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Sometimes the floor beats you”. - B-Boy Jelly / Bad Taste Cru.
Each member of Bad Taste Cru has played a significant role in my development as a B-boy, artist and human. Their teachings and ethos formed the foundations of my dance (and career) and I carry those lessons into every battle, performance and project I approach.
I actively seek out opportunities to learn and share with Breakers who inspire me, continuing my development as an artist. I have had the pleasure of learning from Breakers around the world, each with their own style, approach and knowledge of the art form. Some of which include:
Lil Lee (Newcastle City Kings)
B-Boy Mouse (Mighty Zulu Kings / Floor Gangs)
B-Boy Y-not
B-Boy Freeze (Ghost Cru)
Poe-One (Style Elements)
Floor Phantom (Ready To Rock Crew)
B-Boy Intact (Ruffneck Attack)
B-Boy Lego (Flip Side Kings)
B-Boy Dyzee (Supernaturalz Crew)
B-Boy Hat Solo (Flo-Mo Crew)
B-Boy Menno (Hustle Kidz)
I have also attended the widley acclaimed CATCH THE FLAVA camp in Poland, in 2017 and 2019. CATCH THE FLAVA is a week long intensive, which invites students from across the globe to study with some of the Breaking communities most accomplished practitioners.
As a B-boy I operate under the pseudonym: Justice.
This was a name I chose for myself and acts as a form of motivation in both my dance and life.
Originally inspired by my love for comic books, ‘Justice’ eventually became more of a question I would pose to myself after a battle:
Did I do myself Justice?
Sometimes the answer was yes, sometimes it was no.
This question transformed a superficial title into a powerful reminder to apply my best self to any and all tasks. Afterall, how you do anything is how you do everything.
Breaking is a deeply personal practice to me. I’ve never been the most successful or talented B-boy to get down and I most likely never will be. I find endless enjoyment in the creativity and exploration of this art form. The opportunity to learn, develop, grow and share everytime I visit the floor.
That being said, I have been fortunate enough to win multiple crew and solo competitions over my career, some of which include (not including 2nd place or lower):
Evolution UK Crew Qualifier 2011 Champions (Bad Taste Cru)
UK University B-Boy Champion Solo Winner 2013
UK University Crew Battle Winners 2013 (Bad Lionz)

My latest project involves the formation of a new collective: Break.NE
Break.NE is comprised of myself, Jackson Watson and Jake Horsley (both members of Battalions Crew) and aims to provide high quality Breaking classes, events and opportunities within the North-East. Newcastle and the surrounding regions have a long history of producing and supporting talented Breakers and Hip-Hop artists. This includes: Newcastle City Kings, Bad Taste Cru, Battalions Cru, Flava Bay and more. Break.NE is our way of continuing and developing the legacy of North-East Hip-Hop culture.
Break.NE is currently collaborating with Dance City Newcastle, where we have been offered space and support to research and design a complete syllabus for our upcoming classes. We currently run two weekly classes at Dance City Newcastle, as well as multiple sessions across the region. We also have an upcoming Monthly workshop ‘Take The Break’ which is happening in November 2021.
